Brydon Carse dropped by England amid investigation into handcuff incident
Brydon Carse has been dropped from England’s squad for the second Test against Pakistan due to an ongoing investigation relating to an incident at a nightclub in Derby. The pacer was seen in handcuffs outside a nightclub in Derby on Saturday night, prompting an investigation from the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).Carse was originally named in England’s squad, but has now been replaced by Sonny Baker, whose only Test appearance so far came in the New Zealand series in June.The ECB didn't divulge further details about the incident but revealed that the Cricket Regulator will be investigating it. Earlier in the summer, then captain Ben Stokes and pacer Gus Atkinson were also dropped while an investigation into their nightclub incident was ongoing.“Brydon Carse will no longer be available for selection for the Second Men’s Rothesay Test Match while this investigation is ongoing and the full facts are obtained," the ECB statement said.The 31-year-old Carse featured in Durham’s 338-run win over Derbyshire in the County Championship last week. Not part of the Playing XI in the first Test, he was released to play county cricket along with Shoaib Bashir, Sam Cook, Matthew Fisher and Ollie Pope.
